Knut Anagrius

Knut Anagrius wrote his first book while studying at university. It was a self-published collection of his poems and essays that he wrote while recovering from a deer accident in 2006.

In the following years, Knut Anagrius studied law and graduated with a degree from the University of Helsinki. He then went on to study sociology which he successfully completed to bring him up to date on “what makes history”.

He began a series of blog posts that were later compiled into his first book “Write” which is a collection of essays, poems and interviews (released by Mödelstein & Letzing).

In 2012 he published two more books “Traveller” and “The Forest”. In these books, Anagrius discusses the environment and what it means for the future of humanity. He also mentions in these books the theme of immigration.

In 2014, he wrote his fourth book “Diary #1” in which he discusses his writing process, the effects of his accident and the people who have helped him along the way.

One year later, in 2015 came “The Key”. A meandering novel about a woman who finds an antique key that opens a new world of fantasy creatures. In this story Knut Anagrius draws from his experience as an arts student whose thesis was 3-dimensional art.

In the following year, 2016, Anagrius released “Diary #2” about his struggle with the publishing industry and how he adapted to the online world. The book describes the practical steps required to write two books in one year.

Knut Anagrius died on April 18, 2016. Anagrius was working on his next book “Diary #3”, in which he describes his struggles with depression and anxiety that affected him during his writing process.
