Mattias Beijmo

Mattias Beijmo is a Swedish author and poet. Born the fifth of six children in 1952 he grew up in a post-war, socialist Sweden. He has always been interested in philosophy and literature, something which have strongly influenced his writing style and literary influences.

He is the author of “Du är som en vårdag” (2006), “Salamanderns sång” (2010) and his latest novel on Nils Fjällström’s life “Ingen i parken”.

Mattias Beijmo is a recipient of the Swedish poet society’s literary prize “De Nio Maskrosorna” (The Nine Narcissus, 2007).

Mattias Beijmo has been a guest on several radio and television shows, including Sveriges Radio P3 and SVT.

He is an active member of the Swedish Poets Union and Swedish Writers Guild, and an associate of the Swedish Authors` Society.

Mattias Beijmo lives in Stockholm. There he works as full-time writer, freelance journalist, author and lecturer. He is a vegetarian (with interests in animal rights).
